| THE
COURSE Hole
1 - Give consideration to the ditch from the tee.
The first shot must be long enough to carry over
the two bunkers. If the pin is near the back of
the green make sure you make the top tier or a
three putt is likely.
Hole
2 - Straightforward tee shot, but consult the
yardages for a deceptive second shot. Out of
bounds at the back.
Hole
3 - Difficult par 3 with a lot of dead ground
between the ridge and front of the green. Well
guarded with bunkers.
Hole
4 - Right side of the fairway is preferred for
drive, approach shot must be accurate to elevated
green. Be short not long!
Hole
5 - Excellent par 3. Small target needs accurate
shot. It's considered a sin to miss to the left!
Hole
6 - Needs a straight or slightly right side tee
shot. Second shot is to a big green, but anything
left goes left.
Hole
7 - Good tee shot to carry the ridge. Accurate
approach to avoid the bunkers. Careful reading of
green required.
Hole
8 - Decide on a line from the tee to avoid the
bunkers down the left. Big wide green usually
needs one club more. Severe kick and drop off the
back left edge possible.
Hole
9 - Downhill partly blind par 3. Any shot short
will run on but must avoid the bunkers right and
left.
Hole
10 - Straightforward tee shot. If you drive down
the hill, consult the yardages to the green. If
not, watch the fairway bunker on the left on your
second.
Hole
11 - Sheltered tee. Beware any wind out there.
What way was it blowing? Prevailing wind pushes
the ball right. Elevated green, but the ball can
be chased on up slope. Watch out for the nasty
pot bunker short and right of the green.
Hole
12 - Dog leg left. Favour the right side with the
drive. Check your yardage for approach. Another
hole where you do not want to be big!
Hole
13 - Par 3 where anything played short will break
right. Do not go left. Not only will you be out
of bounds; you will be in the Dee!
Hole
14 - Short par 4. Central position more important
than distance off the tee. Difficult approach due
to uneven terrain in front and around green. A
high, soft landing approach on to the green will
be best. Wherever the pin a shot to the centre of
the green will give the chance of a birdie.
Hole
15 - OB all the way down left. Avoid fairway
bunkers on drive. Generous, wide green, though.
Anything short of the green centre will stop
quickly. Anything long will probably run through.
Hole
16 - Drive down the middle avoiding bunkers right
and left. Big green, but well guarded with
bunkers which you should be sure to clear.
Hole
17 - Elevated tee shot very exposed to any cross
wind. A bit deceptive with some dead ground short
of green so trust the yardage.
Hole
18 - Left of centre drive favours a more open
approach as this large green is guarded with
mounds and bunkers on the right. Beware OB left,
though.
